Steve & Amy Robertson
The Robertson Review
May 28, 2007
Dear Friends,
May has been a month of ups and downs. A lot of great things have happened:
- Our support is now in the 91-92% range. God has provided so well for us,
and we are encouraged that the support trail may be close to an end. We are
hopeful that a few churches and individuals will come forward to push us
over the top.
- On May 14, Amy was inducted into the inaugural class in the Westminster
Schools of Augusta Sports Hall of Fame. It was a fun and special time (and
she's going to kill me for including this, but I had to brag on her).
- The kids love summer, and they have been attending to the many animals
that have appeared in the Robertson "Animal Shelter" over the past week
(among them a parrot, a snake and a baby robin).
Among the more trying things:
- Amy has been experiencing some health problems (including some sinus
problems that we've been wanting to avoid).
- We've had some slow-downs in the process of getting our Mexican visas. We
need to receive these quickly to facilitate all aspects of our move.
- Emotionally we're feeling more of the toll of all the unknowns that are
out there: When will all the support come in? When will we actually move?
What will our new home be like? Will our stuff arrive safely? What will the
kids' school situation really be like? We know that the Lord knows the
answers to these questions (and more). Still as our target date approaches
(6 more weeks!) the unanswered questions weigh more heavily upon us.
The next several weeks get very hectic:
| May 28-29 | Nashville, TN | Steve at Presbytery |
| May 30-June 3 | Williamsburg, VA | Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (and visit
with Ben,
Dawn and Naomi Robertson) |
| June 8-16 | Memphis, TN | Steve at General Assembly |
| June 7-11 | St. Louis, MO | Amy & kids' STL farewell tour |
| June 17 | Kennesaw, GA | Christ Community Church |
We're going to begin including a few facts about Mexico/life in Mexico with
each newsletter. For May, we give you the following tidbits:
- Mother's Day in Mexico is always on May 10, regardless of the day of the
week. (That means American mothers in Mexico usually get 2 Mother's Day
celebrations within one week.)
- Cinco de Mayo isn't celebrated in much of Mexico. (Mexico's Independence
Day is September 16.)
Please continue to be in prayer for us:
- Pray that the remaining support needed would come in quickly.
- Pray that the process of getting documents and visas together would go
quickly.
- Pray for a good home for us in Guadalajara, for a smooth move and for the
children being able to make the adjustment well.
- Pray that we would be faithful followers of Christ.
- Pray that the Lord would be preparing hearts to hear his gospel in
Guadalajara.
- Pray that Joseph, Mary Beth and Johnny would grow in all areas and that
church, school and home would be blessings to them.
In His Grace,
Steve (for the Robertsons)

A note about financial support – Our missions agency (Mission to the World) requires us to raise 100% of our support before we can go to the field. We need both “one-time” gifts and ongoing (monthly, quarterly, etc.) gifts, with ongoing gifts being our biggest need. If the Lord is moving you to participate in our support team, please let us know. Support should be made payable to “Mission to the World” and sent to Mission to the World, PO Box 116284, Atlanta, GA 30368-6284. In the Memo field, put “Robertson 016521.”
