Steve & Amy RobertsonThe Robertson ReviewMay 8, 2007A few weeks ago I joined Johnny (age 5) at his school for a “Doughnuts with Dad” breakfast and was presented with Johnny’s answers to questions about me. Aside from being 33 feet tall and weighing about 60 pounds (that Special K diet really works wonders), I learned this about myself – Question: “Why did God make dads?” Johnny’s answer: “So they could go to work and get money to move.” I guess it’s comforting that he thinks the stage we’ve been going through is completely normal for any family, but this is definitely a stage that we want to see end. As April comes to a close, about 10 weeks remain until our desired move date. This date is desired rather than firmly established because it depends on many factors coming together, the most significant being financial support. God has blessed abundantly this month, and we praise him that we are now very close to our support goal. We are only $1,500 per month short! But we have to close this gap soon in order to complete our move in time to have the children settled before school begins in August. Please be praying that this will happen quickly! April has been an exciting month. Aside from a sizable jump in support, it began with a special time of a Palm Sunday ordination service. It was a wonderful service of worship and celebration, and we were so pleased that friends and loved ones from all over were able to join with us. In many ways ordination is an ending, a culmination of several years of study and effort, but more so it is a beginning of the labor that is before us. We are so thankful for how God has brought us this far and we are looking forward to his plan for us as we go to Mexico. Our travels are subsiding. Other than a trip to Nashville in late May and a potential trip to Williamsburg, VA, in early June our calendar is opening up. We have enjoyed getting to visit and worship with so many of you in so many different cities, yet at this point we are thankful for the rest. Please continue to be in prayer for us:

3510 Miller Farms Lane A note about financial support – Our missions agency (Mission to the World) requires us to raise 100% of our support before we can go to the field. We need both “one-time” gifts and ongoing (monthly, quarterly, etc.) gifts, with ongoing gifts being our biggest need. If the Lord is moving you to participate in our support team, please let us know. Support should be made payable to “Mission to the World” and sent to Mission to the World, PO Box 116284, Atlanta, GA 30368-6284. In the Memo field, put “Robertson 016521.” - May 17, 2007 |
