Steve & Amy RobertsonThe Robertson ReviewJuly 18, 2007This is just a quick note to thank you all for your prayers and to let you know that we arrived safely in Guadalajara on Saturday night after four long days on the road. God was gracious to us in many ways. The kids had mostly good attitudes and enjoyed many parts of the journey such as the Lousiana bayou, the cool cactus plants of Texas and Mexico, the striking mountains of Monterrey, and the endless city lights of Guadalajara. During our stop in Laredo we caught a tarantula on the porch of our room and killed a scorpion right by the car--very exciting for Joseph especially. We had a smooth border crossing and only once came close to running out of gas. When we finally found a Pemex (the one and only gas station here) we put in 66 liters (17.5 gallons), the most we've ever put into a tank. We are staying for a few days with Larry and Sandy Trotter, missionaries and close friends from our previous time in Mexico. Today we were able to start cleaning and preparing our rental house in the city. The kids were very excited about it and about the park across the street. We are ready to get settled and hopefully will be able to move in with sleeping bags by this weekend while we wait for most of our stuff to arrive from Atlanta. Those of you who heard stories of our old house will be happy to know that while cleaning I found not a single black widow spider--and, believe me, I was looking! Please continue to pray for us as we take care of many expected and unexpected details of settling into our new home in Mexico. Please pray for Steve as he preaches this Sunday in English and Spanish at Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer), the church where Steve is helping with discipleship and leadership training. Please let us hear from you--it's a huge encouragement. In His Grace,
Steve (for all the Robertsons)
