News for Friends, Family, and Partners

Dear Friends,

The Lord continues to guide us as we prepare for the work he has called us to in Guadalajara. There are a couple of significant items that have happened this month. First, last week I completed my ordination exams! The ordination process, though difficult, has been a blessing to me, and I am thankful for the stretching that God put me through and for the privilege of being part of the Nashville Presbytery. The ordination service is set for April 1 at 4:00 pm at the Christ Presbyterian Chapel in Nashville, TN. You are invited! Second, we now have 2/3 of our support raised. We are grateful for how God has blessed us and for the ways in which he has moved his people to give. We have to have 100% raised before we can leave for Guadalajara, so please pray that the Lord opens doors for us.

So far we have been at 6 different churches this year (and the next three Sundays are already committed). It has been a blessing to be able to worship with so many fellow believers and especially to get to fellowship with other missionaries as we go to missions conferences. Mix in a few family birthdays (Mary Beth’s & mine) and ordination-related travel and we have been really busy. Please continue to pray for our stamina. Here is our up-coming schedule:

Augusta, GAFeb 23-25Lakemont Presbyterian Church (Amy & Kids)
Middleton, TNFeb 23-25(Steve)
Huntsville, ALMar 2-4Westminster Presbyterian Church
Medina, OH Mar 9-11Harvest Presbyterian Church
Nashville, TNApril 1Christ Presbyterian Church
(Please let us know if you can come!)

Here are some of our prayer requests:

  • Pray that we would be faithful followers of Christ.
  • Pray that the Lord would be preparing hearts to hear his gospel in Guadalajara.
  • Pray that we would withstand the strains of frequent travel and that we would be blessed with good health. Some of Amy’s sinus stuff has come back. Please pray!
  • Pray that Joseph, Mary Beth and Johnny would grow in all areas and that church, school and home would be blessings to them.
  • Praise the Lord for enabling me to finish my ordination exams.
  • Pray that the Lord would move people to support the work in Guadalajara.

In His Grace,
Steve (for the Robertsons)

PS – Our missions agency (Mission to the World) requires us to raise 100% of our support before we can go to the field. We need both “one-time” gifts and ongoing (monthly, quarterly, etc.) gifts, with monthly gifts being our biggest need. This process is going well – we are over halfway, but we still have a ways to go. If the Lord is moving you to participate in our support team, please let us know. Support should be made payable to “Mission to the World” and sent to Mission to the World, PO Box 116284, Atlanta, GA 30368-6284. In the Memo field, put “Robertson 016521.”
