One Year in Peru

On the anniversary of my arrival in Peru, I send you my prayer requests! Thanks for a year of faithful prayer (even if it wasn't faithful thank you for all your prayers) they have certainly upheld me in this foreign land- that's becoming a tad bit familiar to me now!

Please Pray for:

March 14- March 20

• MUNDO (WORLD): Please pray for street children around the world and those at- risk for the streets. That they would know their real Father in a real way despite their upbringing or lack of... Isaiah 49:15 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
• MINISTRY: There are two new boys who have come to the Cristo Salvado after school project recently, Alonzo and Juan. Alonzo is an inquisitive, rambunctious six year old. Juan is a 10 year old who can't read and has speech problems. Also pray for the future ministry our team will have to street kids and those at-risk and my possible involvement in it.
• ME: My brothers; birthdays are the 12th and 18th of this month. Pray for them to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ and knowing their identity is first and foremost a son of God.

• MUNDO (WORLD): Job 28:23-28
  • 23 God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells,
  • 24 for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.
  • 25 When he established the force of the wind and measured out the waters,
  • 26 when he made a decree for the rain and a path for the thunderstorm,
  • 27 then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it.
  • 28 And he said to man, 'The fear of the LordÑthat is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.' "
    Ponder and praise God for His omniscience!
• MINISTRY: Please pray for God's wisdom in the Santa Anita church plant, for each leader and each member and attender! Cover it with prayer, cry out for these folks- if you'd like a list of their names, I can provide that!
• ME: My cousin John Harris gets married this weekend. Please pray for him and Sarah Jo and me as I would love to be there. As cousins, we have enjoyed each others' weddings but prior commitments apprehend me from physically attending!

• MUNDO (WORLD): Missionary teams around the globe- please pray for unity and good communication as this is where the devil attacks in a mighty way on the mission field.
• MINISTRY: Please pray for a physical site for the church and our Sunday School in Salamanca ( we have been meeting in a park) Please pray for the team that's being created to raise this church and leaders for it.
• ME: Praise for the Salvatierra's arriving in country to join our team at the end of the year. Please pray for our team that we may imitate Paul and the Apostles as servants as mentioned in 1Cor. 4:12,13 "We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we answer kindly. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world."

• MUNDO (WORLD): Please pray for 20-30 somethings who are searching for their "place in this world;" finding significance in fleeting and enduring things or where God wants them or getting as far away from God as possible.
• MINISTRY: Please pray for Mauro and Haydee, Jorge and Lea, Patty, Monicka, Junior and God's leading/ their listening for His will.
• ME: Please pray/praise for my sister Taylor as she celebrates her birthday, she's been a great example for me in searching for God's will in her life. Also, pray for the times my mind wanders to the future and what else God has for me- that He'd focus me here! Phil. 3:19,20 "Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ," That we'd all remember we're extranjeros (strangers) in this world!

• MUNDO (WORLD): Pray for the world's rich: there are so many mesmerized by their "beauty" and deceived by money's ruse. They have much responsibility and privilege.
• MINISTRY: Please pray for steps toward self- sustainability of the church we're working with, progress is being made but we want the ultimate lesson to be trusting in God in plenty and want!
• ME: Please join me in praying Romans 12:12 "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." My prayer for the month (it can be applied to my expenses as well), My prayer for this new year of ministry as well!
