November/December Prayer Requests
November 16, 2006

November 12-18
WORLD-  Pray for leadership; christian and secular in all areas of life; politics, ministry, business  They have an enourmous amount of power which brings temptation.
MINISTRY - Please pray for unity in our team; each church plant team, within the missionaries and even in our house
Jon 17:21-23 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
ME- Pray that I would love these folks that I'm working with in such a way that I'm always looking out for their good instead of my own!

Nov 18-24
WORLD- Pray that God would raise up more missionaries from South America and Asia to serve in their own countries and be sent out abroad.  Its a big job- amazing and super challenging!  John 17:20 My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message
MINISTRY - Pray for the Davidsons- they are another family working with our mission in  another church- they're team is themselves and the Peruvians- for more than 10 years.  (We'll be spending Thanksgiving with them. It should be fun!- They have 2 teenage daughters here. )
ME- my spanish- some say because I'm teaching english it could be contributing to my lack of fluent Spanish, but I wanna be better- I'm kind of frustrated with where I am.

Nov. 25- Dec. 1
WORLD- Pray for refugees especially those in the deserts and freezing cold climates who do not have a home that they can go to, but must wait in uncertainty or begin a new life in an unfamiliar place.
MINISTRY - Santa Anita- the church plant where I'm helping needs lots of prayer- although it's been around for a few years, it some ways it's just starting up.  We want the members to take ownership.  Hebrews 13:20-21 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
ME-  Please pray that while I'm in this desert city my heart does not "dry out" like my skin is doing currently, pray for constant rejuvenation of my relationship with Christ.  I want that same verse to be true in my life!

Dec. 2-8
WORLD-Please pray for Christian teachers in public and private settings, influence of schools in the lives of thhe families who are a part, that there would be more beacons of light in the institutions of learning worldwide   John 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
MINISTRY - pray for the kids as they finish up the school year and the helpers in the tutoring and plan better for next year.
ME- sometimes I miss my ESL kids in the states and teaching in those schools- pray for contentedness!

Dec. 9-15
WORLD- Please pray government programs and private institutions that are providing basic physical needs for people in poverty.
MINISTRY- Pray for the public comedor (feeding program) that I help out in and how I can be more of a light there.
ME- Pray for my relationship with ladies who work there and my involvement in a girls shelter in our neighborhood, Salamanca, that  we both remember that only God provides what they really need in His son Jesus Christ!  Col. 2:2 My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

I am so thankful for people who pray!
I continue to appreciate hearing how you are and what I can be praying for!

Love, Susan
