When we finished traveling to churches in April, we all collapsed from the exhaustion of just being away from home. I wondered how we would pack up and be on our way back to Chile in three weeks. We hadn't even seen some of our family yet, particularly my grandparents. The kids were finally settled in school. We decided to just do the Chilean paperwork for a visa extension and stay a little longer. The kids finished school well, and are basking in the first few days of summer. The fish in the pond don't stand a chance. While they were finishing school Roger has been working on getting the last bit of our funds together to buy plane tickets. That has been slower than we anticipated. As of today our present needs are about $2500 for plane tickets. On a brighter note, we received a phone call from a church who has funds to support the educational needs of 6 pastors in training in Chile! Roger has also been Mr. Mom while I have been tending to one family crisis after another. My older brother spent a week in ICU. He is at home, but he is not well at all. This has been very hard for all of us. The delay, although not what we planned, does enable Roger to see some of his family who are also missionaries and only come home every few years! We'd rather not wander for forty years, but we do receive the delays as from God. As of right now we are expecting a departure during July assuming the remainder of the funds comes in. I linger in the shade of the pecan trees and savor the smell of honeysuckle at the edge of the woods. Both are small pleasures of mowing grass on a hot morning. Know of our prayers for you all today.
