I have put off writing to you all so that I could say that I was sitting in my Chilean living room in my winter coat drinking a cup of hot tea. Well, it is still iced tea in our country home in Winnsboro, SC.

Several weeks ago we wrote to say that we needed $2500 dollars. MTW corrected us to say that it did not include the amount of $8000 we need to leave in our account for emergencies that have been so prevalent with missionaries these days. So many of you had already given so much I hadn't the heart to write yet again especially since the giving was much more than we expected. Our corrected status is that we need $3000 dollars more to be approved to buy plane tickets. As soon as the money is there we can buy plane tickets. We are hoping that everything will be in soon and we can be on our way within a few weeks.

The delay has certainly been a blessing for us to be here with our family. Within hours of sending out the last e-mail saying that my brother was home from the hospital but not doing well he began to improve. I know that many of you prayed right then. Thank you! He isn't 100% yet, but God is certainly at work in his life.

The delay also enabled us to attend the unexpected funeral of a dear cousin. Frances Timms has been an example of a godly woman to me for many years. I am one of many who miss her.

The bass line of "He Touched Me" rang out from the chair next to me. We haven't heard Daddy Dye sing in more than a year so we all turned to see for ourselves. Daddy Dye had just returned from a happy visit to the neurologist who does not want to see him for a year. It seems that the drugs he is taking for Parkinsons are working, giving him part of his life back. He still has to take it easy and not plan long days, but oh how thankful we are to have him back! Mom and Dad Dye were with us just a week. We crammed in as many minutes together and with other family as possible including a family wedding/reunion.

Another bright spot during these last few months has been getting to know a girl from Uruguay. I don't think she is a believer yet, but it has been pure joy to study what salvation and grace really is. She drinks it all in while her three small children play at our feet with Suzy. The Holy Spirit continues to draw her to Himself. Perhaps this week "the angels will be jumping". (Juanita Rug's take on the party that the angels throw when a person receives Christ.)

Hudson grimaced his best boxer face and hoisted his fists into the air, mimicking something he heard. "You wanna piece of me?!" Suzy, who copies everything raised her fists and grimaced her best boxer face, "You wanna piece of Hudson?!"

Know of our prayers for you all today.
