There are two small hand prints on the freshly washed mirror and one very familiar set of rosebud lip prints. A clean mirror must inspire such art. I'll try not to think about the footprints on the sink. We are thoroughly enjoying the ho hum life of living in one place anticipating our two week trip to Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee on Saturday. We opted to stay home this holiday weekend and take the kids to fun things like ice skating (also on my list of things to do while in the US.) We enjoyed a leisure Sunday lunch with my parents, Aunt Margaret, my brother Charles and two of his friends from Montana. I think we even managed to read the paper and catch a quick nap before my sister popped in for a few minutes. I do love our busy life on Sundays with lots of meetings and activities, but I think I like this version of Sunday even better. We leave Saturday morning to spend several days in Alabama. Covenant Presbyterian Church will be putting us up, but we will attend two conferences sometimes at the same time. Roger and I will divide and conquer to make sure there is a good representation of Chile is at both Covenant and Oak Mountain. Thursday, the missions committee from First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Mississippi will take us to lunch. (Do you think they know what they are getting into?) We'll be in Tennessee after that for what I call the "vacation missions conference" at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. We always feel like we've had a vacation when we get home from that one. I picked up Deanna's wrinkled memory verse card that had fallen underneath the kitchen table. It had a smeared verse from Habakkuk 3:17ff
"Though the fig tree should not blossom and there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail and the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold and there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, and makes me walk in my high places." Who says cleaning house isn't encouraging? Know of our prayers for you all today!
