| "I enjoy getting to know some of the food and sights in each country I go to. In these pictures you see the contrast of a village market and modern cars and malls in the capital of San Salvador. The most typical dish is the "pupusa with curtido", which is a corn tortilla filled with cheese or "chicharron" - fried pork fat. You grab the cabbage in vinaigrette with it. It was OK, not one of my favorites. On the other hand, I enjoyed the lobster and assorted sea food at a seaside restaurant" | |

"El Salvador is 30% evangelical with many large evangelical churches in the capital of San Salvador. I was impressed with a high level Evangelical University that has between 7,000 and 8,000 students". Many doctors and engineers in the country are graduates of this University."

"I had over thirty students in my Introduction to Pastoral Psychology class. These were pastors, doctors, social workers, teachers, ministry leaders, Sunday School teachers, etc. The level of interaction with them was very good and thought provoking. I am amazed to find so little that is done in the area of pastoral psychology. The needs are tremendous in all these countries, as you well know, yet the church leadership has very little training in relational skills and in dealing with family problems" We had a lot of fun, as you can see in the pictures. We did have to cancel Thursday night's class because of a hurricane warning."
