Susana's Trip & FLET Adopt Student

March 17, 2005

Dear partners in ministry,

Susana is back and is doing well, catching up with her studies at Covenant at the moment. She will be writing a report on her trip soon. Meanwhile, I wanted to send on to you an E-mail we got from her while she was there. Thank you for your prayers for her.

"... We have had an incredible experience here and have learned so much about God¥s work here in Spain and the huge need that there is as well. The people are great and the culture is much like Chile which makes me feel right at home. God has really blessed our time so far as a team and in our contribution. It was really providential that I was able to come on this trip because having someone to translate well was much needed and I have been doing most of it. So, as you can imagine I am exhausted and spent in many ways so I ask for you to pray that God will provide energy for me to make it through until the end of the week. However, most of the girls are picking up the Spanish pretty fast and starting to go out among non-English speakers without my help. God has answered so many prayers and blessed this trip in amazing ways and I am incredibly thankful and excited about that. Well, I need some sleep, I will try to write or call sometime soon. Love, Susana "

Update on Richard Crane:

I will be sending you an E-mail from our FLET University office to invite you to participate in our Adopt a Student campaign. This is a responsibility that I have assumed in FLET, and I will be sending testimonies and updates about our students through an E-mail Flet newsletter. (If you do not want to receive these, let me know in an E-mail, and I will take you off that list). Meanwhile, you can also turn to the page you will be getting by pressing the following link: http://flet.edu/Adopt%20a%20Student/Adopt%20a%20student.htm We are praying at FLET that hundreds of you will join us in this campaign and take it as a project to promote in your church. It gives you an opportunity to help train national pastors in a more personal and direct way.

On another note, plans are on the way for a week long trip to El Salvador in May to teach a course on pastoral psychology to pastors and leaders there. I always look forward to these trips since they expose me to what God is doing in different countries of Latin America.

This past Monday (March 14) I began teaching a course in Spanish here in Miami to 14 students from FLET Universidad and 4 from MINTS (Miami International Seminary). It is an introduction to counseling course for both bachelors and masters students. It will go on for 10 weeks. This provides me with an opportunity to test the materials I am preparing for our published courses in the Hispanic context of the US as well.

Thank you so very much for your prayers and faithful support.
