Robert and Amy Bristol #010680
Church Planting
Robert and Amy were both raised in Christian families and trusted Jesus at an early age. Robert grew up in Grand Rapids, MI where he faithfully attended Christ Church PCA. As a boy he sensed the Lord's call to missions. Amy is the youngest of six children from an Air Force family. She spent her younger years in Alabama and enjoyed living in Japan for two years.
While attending Western Michigan University, Robert and Amy met in an InterVarsity Christian Fellowship Bible study. The two discovered a mutual love for travel, people of other cultures, and speaking Spanish. They wondered how God might be leading them to minister cross-culturally, especially to Hispanics.
After marrying in 1996, Robert and Amy participated in several missions trips to Latin America. Robert graduated from Calvin Seminary in 2003. Amy has taught high school English and Spanish.
Robert and Amy will be serving in Queretaro, Mexico, a city of 2 million people, 120 miles northwest of Mexico City, where only 1% of the population attend evangelical churches. Robert will be teaching theological classes in a budding seminary, directing its extension program, assisting pastors with evangelism and church planting, and training church lay people. He and Amy will also be discipling/mentoring young people.
