Robert and Amy BristolThe Bristol UpdateOctober 8, 2007Dear Friends, We appreciate your ongoing interest and prayers for our ministry in Querétaro. Things are going very well and we are getting busier each week with ministry work. One of my (Robert) jobs during the week is to meet with pastors to help them in their various duties. We are an encouragement to each other. I also am one of the rotating preachers at the English-speaking service. My students and I are tackling a number of in-depth issues in our seminary class and they are happy to be learning things that are immediately useful in their relationships. You can pray for them to stick to their readings and homework. And, you can pray for me to present clear teachings on thorny issues. (Read through 1 Corinthians!) Amy and Sophia are very happy and doing well. Amy teaches an English class on Thursday evenings to a number of professionals. They discuss a theme (last week it was "sports & their fans"), do a short grammar lesson, and read a Bible passage in English. Pray for these non-Christians to have a hunger for God. Last night's newcomer was Aida Garcia, a member of the church we attend and an internationally known opera singer and voice teacher. What an amazing voice! Amy also really enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and is relieved to have finally "arrived" at this job that she has wanted for so many years. She shops and bakes and plays with Sophia. One of Amy's current projects is helping Sophia memorize Psalm 23. Sophia started pre-school in late August. She is speaking some Spanish now and getting along fine with her buddies. It is amazing to us how she understands so much spoken Spanish and can make an appropriate response, even if it is in English. Our October Newsletter is being printed and mailed to you this week which will give you more information. We really appreciate your prayers and encouragment. Our Praises and Petitions for this month are below. Thank you for participating in this ministry.
