Dear Praying Friends,

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

Greetings in the Lord Jesus Christ! We wanted to send out three special requests as well as an update on what the Lord is doing in our lives.

The first request:

Sunday morning, May 1, during a worship service at San Andres church in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Ron Smith, a fellow MTW missionary and good friend, was shot. Armed robbers came into the church and took people's money and cell phones and eventually shot Ron at close range. The bullet went through his arm and ended up in his back. Sunday Ron had surgery to set his arm and remove the bullet. Yesterday, the doctors discovered that Ron had a blood clot on his spleen and a collapsed lung. Please pray for Ron, the Smith family, San Andres church and fellow missionaries in Ecuador for God's comfort and wisdom. Pray that they would be able to see God's work in this tragedy.

Second request:

Two weeks ago the president of Ecuador was forced out of office. Pray for the new President and the people of Ecuador. Pray for peace while the new government organizes their administration. Pray that the people would look to God for answers in the midst of uncertainty.

Third request:

Pray for William, our son, who will be going on a mission trip to Romania on Sunday with a group from Covenant College. Pray that God will use this to touch people's lives in Romania and to grow William and the others closer to God. Pray for the additional support he still needs. If you would like to participate with him you can send checks made out to Covenant College to:

William would love to know if you are going to help him with this need. You can e-mail him at mcmahan@covenant.edu

As for the rest of the McMahan family we are doing very well. In April we attended two mission conferences, one in Tennessee and one in Missouri. The girls are in the process of finishing out their school year. Wendy will be graduating the 28th of May and we look forward to having both Mike's and Robin's folks here with us. Wendy is working at Arby's and will be attending Georgia College and State University in the fall. Whitney and Waverly will be going to St. Louis this summer for a week to attend a conference at Covenant Seminary.

In June Robin and I will be traveling up to Covenant College to attend the Chalmer's Economic Development Institute. Robin will be helping to teach a module, while Mike attends a class on Business Development Services. We are also planning a trip to Ecuador this summer either in late June or July. We have moved our date to permanently return to Ecuador back to December. Please pray that God would continue to raise up our needed support. We currently have about 65% in commitments. We are in the process of establishing our fall calendar and would love to be able to visit with those of you whom we have not yet seen.

Please let us know how we can be praying for you.

In Christ's Service,

The McMahan family
