Mary Lee Friese #012372
Deaf Ministry
Mary Lee was born in Shippensburg, PA. She moved to Florida to answer the call of the Lord to work with the deaf and attended Flagler College, obtaining a BA in elementary education and deaf education. Since then she has received her certification in both ESOL (English as a second language) and LD (learning disabilities).
After teaching 14 years in St. Augustine, at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, Mary Lee worked on the mission field with Caribbean Christian Centre for the Deaf (CCCD). She served for eight years as a teacher, principal, teacher-trainer, vocational-trainer, and deaf ministry consultant.
There is a great need for missionaries to the deaf because few parents know their own child’s language. Few children know their own name and definitely not the name of Jesus. This great need has Mary Lee currently serving with the MTW team in Viña del Mar, Chile. She is the director of Deaf Ministries at CEMIPRE, a center for the differently enabled. Please pray that God would use the team to establish a ministry model for Latin America and for other parts of the world to bring more of these forgotten ones into the kingdom of God.
