Dear Praying Friends,

Greetings to you in Jesus' wonderful name!

Since we last communicated we have firmed up our date to return to Peru. We will return Feb. 23. We are thankful to have a concrete date and are busy tying up loose ends, beginning to pack and preparing for the transition. We appreciate your prayers for these upcoming events in our schedule:

  1. Jan. 30-Feb. 3 - Global Church Advancement Church Planting Basic Training in Orlando, Florida. Mark and Lori will attend together.
  2. Feb. 6 - Move out of our current home and in with Mark's parents (also in Murfreesboro) for 2 1/2 weeks.
  3. Feb. 14 - Nashville Presbytery meeting. This is the presbytery where Mark is a member and we hope he will have an opportunity to speak.
  4. Feb. 17-19 - West Boca Presbyterian Church Missions Conference.
  5. Feb. 23 - Leave for Lima

Other things to be in prayer for are:

  1. That we would get to say all the goodbyes we need to and see everyone we are supposed to see before we leave.
  2. For our families and for us as we say goodbyes, that we Jesus would comfort and encourage our hearts as we grieve our separation.
  3. That God would continue to bring in additional support to get us to 100%.
  4. For sufficient grace in the long transition of relocating our family to another residence in Lima.
  5. For grace to pack well and smart.
  6. As always, please keep praying for the churches in Huaycán and in Santa Anita, for the children in the Cristo Salvador tutoring/feeding program in Huaycán, for Pastor Adrian in his leadership in these churches, and for his wife Reyna in her leadership of the children's ministry, and for elders like Fabian and Máximo and leaders like Enrique, Martha, Jorge, Elisban, Magaly, Albertina, and many others who the Lord is using and strengthening to build his church in Lima. Pray for their growth in grace and maturity in the faith.
  7. Also, please keep remembering to pray for the Lord to raise up long term, committed career missionaries to join our team. Specifically pray for committed missionaries to fill the roles of team administrator, director of church planting, director of diaconal ministries, director of leadership training, and pastor of missionary care and mentoring.

Finally, an encouraging note: Pastor Adrian emailed me last week to tell me that one of the Presbyterian churches in Cuzco has decided to host an EE Etnias clinic in February and some of our leaders who received the training in November, including Adrian, have been asked to attend as trainers. Praise the Lord for the way He continues to grow his people and spread his gospel in Peru.

Thank you for the encouragement and strength that your prayers provide.

Much love in Christ,

Mark and Lori
