Dear Friends,
We hope this update finds you all well and full of hope in the gospel of our
Lord Jesus Christ!
Here's what's going on for prayer:
Praise:
- Great visits to West Boca Presbyterian Church's missions conference
(whole family) and to Heritage Presbyterian (Oklahoma City-Mark and Anna).
The Lord blessed both trips powerfully and we are thankful for the renewed
and new friendships in Christ we were able to enjoy, as well as for the
opportunities to communicate with the saints what the Lord is doing in Lima.
- We're all well after an almost two month struggle with flu and
sicknesses to each member of the family.
- EE started the second week of Feb in both Iglesia Cristo Redentor
(the Santa Anita church plant) and Iglesia Jesus el Buen Pastor (the Huaycan
mother church). It's the second course for Jesus el Buen Pastor, the first
for Cristo Redentor.
- Jesus el Buen Pastor sent their first missionaries to the field.
Four youth went with Andrew and Adrian to do a VBS in the jungle town of
Aoti the last week of February. Adrian taught a pastor's conference and
Andrew led the youth in their work with youth and children.
Prayer:
- For the trainers and trainees in both Jesus el Buen Pastor and
Cristo Redentor to grow in grace and as evangelists to their communities.
- For the Cristo Salvador children's mercy ministry of Jesus el Buen
Pastor.
- For salvation for the children and their families who don't yet know
the Lord
- For the leadership of the church to grow in grace, wisdom and skill
at they shepherd and participate in this new ministry of the church
- For three PCA churches to partner with us to cover our part of the
operational costs, a sum of about $34,000 over ten years.
- For Jesus el Buen Pastor to be able to contribute through their
tithes and offerings $578.20 in 2005 towards the operational costs of the
ministry. The portion they are to cover this year is 10% of the total.
- For Andrew Halbert, our two year missionary, who is coming near the
conclusion of his term of service with us in Lima. Pray for wisdom and the
Lord's clear leading as he makes decisions about his future.
- For Suzanne Matthews as she continues giving guidance to the women's
Bible study in Salamanca.
- For Enrique and Marta as they each lead a men's and women's Bible
study of unbelievers, respectively. Pray that they would grow in grace and
be used powerfully to lead each person in their studies to Christ.
- For a future church plant of these new believers in Salamanca by the
end of 2005 or early 2006.
- For wisdom for Mark as he continues to work on 5 year, 10 year and
20 year plans for the ministry.
- For our family vacation in March-for rest and renewal physically,
spiritually and emotionally.
Thank you for praying for us,
In Christ,
Mark for all
