At a Glance: ...The Word of the Lord... Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?" "Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?" For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Romans 11:33-36 ...I'm Finished!!!... I can hardly believe it. After twelve years of laboring... J I have finally taken and passed my last comprehensive Bible exam for seminary. I'm finished! I can actually petition to graduate now! I can't quit smiling... ...Katrina Relief... Wednesday morning November 2nd, I will head down to Biloxi, MS to work with First Presbyterian Church of Biloxi in their kitchen in order to cook for construction teams who are helping to rebuild the community after Hurricane Katrina. I will be accompanied by Lucy Flores Mangum, who was my roommate in Peru and has been in the States for about 9 months after marrying a young man from South Carolina. I am excited to be able to give my time in this way, and also look forward to the time I can spend with Lucy again. She can work on her English and I can work on my Spanish! Please pray that we will both be a blessing to those we serve and that the food will be good (and that they won't get sick from it!!!). J...Encouraged... I am very encouraged by some things that have happened since I last wrote with regard to support raising. Some promises to pledge have been made, and I am once again humbled by people's willingness to give to this particular work of God's in Peru. But I think the most encouraging thing that has happened for me is that once again, God has calmed my spirit and given me a peace about his timing of both the support and of my return date. Until next time and God bless, Laura
