I just realized.... I am ready to get back.
Ay-aye-aye!! I am ready to get back to Peru and the work God is doing down there. How do I convey my excitement over this to all of you?? I've had so much to do, and suddenly I can see the light at the end of the tunnel... Ok, let's talk about God's miracles, and how he works. Well, I don't really understand how he works... no, but I do understand that his ways are higher than my ways, and his thoughts are higher than my thoughts, so I do know that he knows what is best for his Kingdom and how I might possibly fit into the work of its advancement. SO - When I tell him (as though he might be surprised) that I am ready to move on with things and get back to Peru... Well, his timing is perfect and I know he knows the actual date that I will leave! ...I'm Ready But My Account Is Not...
Ok this is the part where you all shudder and moan because it's "another missionary asking for money", right? Maybe it's not that bad, please bear with me...
So many of you who receive this letter are my financial partners in this work of God's in Peru. THANK YOU!!! I see my report every month and am amazed at the generosity of you all. But don't skip down to the bottom yet, I need your ideas. Many of you who receive this letter are prayer partners and not financial partners. So I will say THANK YOU!!!! I cannot do any of this without a strong prayer support base! But don't skip down to the bottom yet, I need your ideas too... I have $2800.00 per month more to raise before I can go back. I know it sounds like a lot, but it can be done - I watched in amazement as God raised my support the first time I went to Peru in 2001. It was a wonderful, hard, faith building experience! And I know this one will be too. I know that I can look to God to do what seems impossible. I need your ideas, and maybe from some of you, your partnership in raising this support. Let's see, what do missionaries do to get the word out about what they do? There are the desserts, brunches, meetings, Sunday Schools, anything to share with an interested group about what is going on way down south. Would some of you be willing to host something like this? I know each of you have friends that I don't know who might be interested in missions and are open to hearing about a new work, or know of churches that are in a position to take on a new missionary. I love sharing about Peru, all I need is an (interested) audience! Are there any other ideas out there? Please let me hear from you!! I don't ever want people to feel obligated or pressured to support me, because I do believe that God will raise this support and he will do it in a way that brings people JOY when they decide to become a Peru Partner! But of course, I have to ask. I would love to get back to Peru by January 2006. I don't know if that's a reasonable goal, but why be reasonable when one knows about God's miracles!! :) So please think, pray, and partner with me as WE go for this goal! Then I can get back to writing about much more interesting things from Peru rather than all about my studies here. I will be looking for your emails...
