Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, I just spoke to Alex Frites, the newly ordained Chilean pastor in Osorno, Chile yesterday afternoon. It was good to hear good news from a far country. Yesterday was the first time that he officiated the Lord's Supper, and it was a special day for him. Thank you for all who prayed and participated in this man's formation. One thing that the church there has done is organize a small soccer tournament for children in a high risk area of town as a method of making contact after a team of dentists came to set up a dental clinic in the area & Alex's church became known. He told me yesterday that a 15 year old in the group was assassinated last week. He is organizing a memorial service for this boy on the field where they played games THIS COMING FRIDAY [Feb. 3]. It will be a dangerous and difficult venture, but he expects not just the children, but families in the area to attend. He requests specific prayer for protection and boldness to clearly present the gospel under difficult circumstances this coming Friday. I told him that I will inform those that are on our Kingdom building team. Please stand with us as we, together with Alex, trust the Lord do glorify His name this Friday.
