February 10, 2006 Dear Friends and Prayer Partners, I received the following Email from Alex concerning his ministry in a high risk area that prayer was requested for. Here is a brief update. I translate only the relevant excerpt of the email: ...Thank you for your prayers that you have raised over there. I tell you that when we arrived at the agreed place, there were only a few adults and we were on the point of canceling everything. But suddenly all those youngsters appeared at the street corner - as if they were testing our purpose (for being there). Their response was incredible. They were very respectful, listened carefully and participated with great interest. Well, at the right time we handed out diplomas and medals for the soccer championship that we had organized. At the end was the main event (the main course as Alex puts it) because we projected images that I had requested beforehand of the assassinated youth. In this context I spoke to them about the value of life and how our society is so devalued, and I asked them how much they thought their lives were worth. I finally told them that only God can tell them how much their lives are really worth and He showed it is a specific way by sacrificing for us what is most precious to His heart - His Son. ... Alex This is only a brief report, but knowing Alex (and the Holy Spirit), I believe that those youth heard the true Gospel with great clarity that evening.
