"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Schedule
October 2nd: Return to Zihuatanejo
October 19th to 31st (more or less) to Oaxaca and Guatemala
Thank God for:
- We had an excellent trip to Scotland, England and Wales. We went with a tour group, but also wandered all over, including a couple of days of exploring London. I enjoyed the time with Mom and my sister-in-law, Carol. Carol even explored the town where her grandmother lived.
- I have also enjoyed visiting my family, friends, and some supporting churches in New York. Thank God for safety in travel, and for the rich times with many of you. And thank God for your faithfulness in praying for us and supporting us.
- I can see again! I could not get glasses made in Mexico (due to the complicated prescription), so have been struggling to see well. Finally I have been back in the U.S. long enough to get new glasses.
- Wayne Johnson (Zihuatanejo) is improving from his cryptococcal meningitis. Please pray for a complete recovery for him.
Please be praying:
- Hugo Gomez was dropped off at the airport en route to Belize, but then his truck (driven by his brother-in law) was carjacked at gun point in Guatemala City yesterday and the truck was stolen. Pray that his truck may be recovered and that the seminar in Belize may be rescheduled.
- Please pray for the health of our Zihuatanejo team. John Sullivan will have shoulder surgery today (9/25). Mary still has back problems and some other medical problems—pray that she can have full and thorough treatment to resolve these problems. Jacob, Raquel, and Rose have also been sick. I am recovered from the typhoid—thanks for your prayers! But please pray for God’s protection for our team.
- In Zihuatanejo, often older people are abandoned in the hospital. We have been trying to set up a refuge for them, but there have been complications. Pray for wisdom as to how to go ahead.
- Jacob and Raquel were due to go to Samachique (in the Copper Canyon area, with the Tarahumaras) but they have been ill. Pray for their decision whether to go.
- Pray for renewal and a clear vision to serve Christ in the churches, both in the United States and in Mexico and around the world. Pray that we may be united and working in God’s power, and not our own. Thank God for the power of prayer.
Many thanks for your faithful prayers and support.
Dios les bendiga,
Jody
