Growing up in Missouri, Jamie and Jennifer trusted Christ at an early age and grew in their faith through Bible studies in high school. Shortly after marrying and moving to South Carolina, they sensed God’s leading them into missions. Jamie and Jennifer have always had a love for children, working with them through the church and their local youth sports programs. God has used many things to develop these two passions in their hearts, preparing them for His work.

When Jamie and Jennifer heard about MTW’s StreetChild work, they knew that God was leading them to this ministry that would include their children, John and Jossi. A trip to Mexico confirmed their decision, opening the door to return to Acapulco in full-time missions.

The Burkempers will work with children at Casa Hogar, an orphanage that cares for 50-60 children, through mentoring, sports and crafts. They will help at Sobre el Puente, a center where children can get meals, a shower, clean clothes, tutoring and God’s Word through the gospel, songs and crafts. Wanting to convey a strong family model and witness to these children and their families, the Burkempers hope you will consider partnering with them through prayer and financial support to bring the abandoned children of Mexico the hope and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
