Prayer Requests

Pray for the Resource Team, of which Gary is the leader. We're thankful for a new member of our Team. Tom Houston teaches Spanish at a university in PA, but will be helping us every summer. Pray for his assimilation into our team, his support raising, and for his trip to Argentina this month.
Gary will be involved as a trainer in a region-wide training event scheduled for this fall in Monterrey, Mexico. All our team leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean will be attending as we as we try to help our teams deal biblically with common obstacles to effective church planting and growth.
Pray for Gary as he is in the process of helping one of our church planting teams evaluate its effectiveness.
Pray for various teams throughout Latin America that Gary is helping to develop an effective training program for national leaders.
Our support account is short by 350 dollars a month.
Audrey is preparing to go to college next fall. Pray for financial aid, good roommates, and all the other details.
Pray that Seth will find the support group he needs in St. Louis.
Micah was recently hired by our local county children's hospital to be a Spanish interpreter. So he is now working 40 hours a week in two part jobs, neither one of which provides health insurance.

Preach Christ--Always

A crucial aspect of missions is knowing how to preach Christ, and to do so in a way that those who hear will understand. Of cousre, this is a challenge in our own country as well as overseas. I hope that my struggling to understand how to preach Christ in a cross-cultural context will also be helpful to the church here in the States. Read more....

Carmen Donoso (right) came to visit us in April. She is a Chilean whom we've known since 1979 when I did an internship in Chile after my second year of seminary. She has worked all these years in a ministry for handicapped and abandoned children. Seth was in St. Louis, so we met half-way in Kentucky.
