Thank you very much for your prayers for us and our ministry. Following are some further prayer requests and reasons for giving thanks.
1. Pray for the leadership training program in Chile. We are training 8 young men for the ministry. Pray for the funding necessary to continue with this program. In many ways, the future of our ministry depends on our ability to train future leadership. Rodney and Jana Davila, who are heavily involved in this ministry, are currently in the US on a short Home Ministry Assignment.
2. The Cristo Rey church in Santiago, Chile, is looking for a pastor. Please pray that the Lord will provide the right man at the right time. Pray that the Lord will protect the church and give wisdom to the session during this time without a pastor.
3. Pray for Javier and his wife Sandra. Javier is the pastor of the church we left in Bogota, Colombia. We no longer have missionaries in that country, but recently Javier and Sandra went to Quito for two weeks to visit the Strumbecks and the church in Quito. This was a refreshing time for Javier and Sandra. We are thankful the work in Colombia is going quite well in the midst of very difficult circumstances in the country.
4. Pray for Mark and Anne Auffarth as Mark finishes his last semester of seminary and as they begin to raise support for their ministry in Latin America. Mark and Anne will be part of the resource team for Latin America.
5. I just finished teach a History of Missions class at Covenant College. I have been encouraged to see the interest in missions among many students, and feel privileged to have a part in forming a new generation of missionaries.
6. Today is the last day of final exams at Covenant College, and Micah and Seth will soon have finished this fall semester. We're thankful they are enjoying and profiting from this experience, and for the financial aid that has allowed them to attend.
7. Our support account has been doing well in terms of regular giving, but it could use some one time support.
If you would like us to visit your church, please let us know when would be a good time.
