The Waldecker Family Update
May 17, 2000

Dear friends,

This year has no doubt been one of the busiest of my missionary career. I have been traveling 50% of my time. I have asked MTW to look into the possibility of finding an assistant who could handle a lot of the details of my job, so I can concentrate on what I'm best at.

We have been maintaing family time fairly well, but things are piling up on my desk and in my e-mail In Box.

Tomorrow (Thursday) I'll be making a trip to Sao Paulo, stopping in Asuncion and Concepcion (Paraguay) on the way back to Santiago. I plan to be home on Monday the 22nd. Pray for me, and for Ken Thompson who will meet me there, as we try to clarify with the Brazilian Presbyterian church some of the elements of our agreement with them. Pray also as I visit some Brazilian missionaries in Paraguay and look into the possibility of cooperating with them in some way.

Pray also for a seminar on Saturday, May 27th, with our discipleship group here in Santiago. Pray for a vision casting meeting in ViŅa del Mar on Sunday the 28th.

On May 29th I'll be leaving for a meeting in Atlanta that has to do with applying MTW's new vision to the way the office operates. On the way home I'll stop in Bogota to participate in the ordination exam of a pastoral candidate. I plan to be home in Santiago on June 8th. Then a trip to Guayaquil and Quito on the 11th.

In part because of all the traveling I'm doing, our support account is in the red by almost four thousand dollars. I had two unexpected trips to the States this year that took a big chunk out of our account. Please pray about this deficit. It appears to me that we need some special one time gifts to get us out of the red. We may also need some increases in regular support, but I don't think need too much in this regard.

Thanks for your prayers,
Gary
