Gene and LuAnn Bowman #010589
Gene and LuAnn grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and both trusted Christ as Savior in their late teens. They were married in August 1974 and have three adult children: Jennifer, who is married, Sara, and Mark.
Since 1988, God has used their participation in short-term mission projects to call them to a life in missions. The Bowmans served for one year in Jamaica with Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf. Gene and LuAnn are now serving with BEAMM, Border Evangelism And Mercy Ministry.
Based in El Paso, Texas, they work with all BEAMM ministries along the 2000-mile U.S./Mexican border providing leadership and administrative assistance. They also recruit new church planters and promote the work of BEAMM to churches of the PCA and the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico.
Many people come to the border, especially from the interior parts of Mexico, because they are able to find productive employment and attain a Mexican upper-middle class level of living. Many are very open to hearing the gospel and receiving Christ. Upon returning to their hometowns, they become community leaders and are instrumental in planting new churches in their communities.
