Danielle Sullivan #017072
Serving Short Term in Chile
Born and raised in Connecticut, Danielle received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Sociology from Castleton State College in Vermont. In 2003, she studied in Chile, where she first met MTW missionaries serving in Viña del Mar. Danielle began to attend church in Reñaca and interact with Chilean Christians. Through church attendance and Bible studies, Danielle came to accept Christ as her Savior.
During her 11 months in Chile, Danielle witnessed first-hand the need for CEMIPRE, the ministry center run by MTW missionaries in conjunction with the Vina del Mar church-planting effort. She taught English classes and interacted with those involved in the various programs offered, such as teaching computer skills, Braille, sign language, leading Bible studies and even quilting. The two goals of CEMIPRE are to sensitize the local church to the disabled community and to work with the “differently enabled” and their families.
Danielle will return to Chile in early 2008 to serve as assistant to the director of CEMIPRE. Her job responsibilities will include working with the families and others who form the support structure for people with disabilities, evangelization and discipleship, and promoting the integration of the differently enabled into their families and churches.
