We took this photo in front of "city hall" here in Campinas. Note the sickle and hammer symbol; our mayor here is a communist and is very much against the US war in Iraq. The sign reads "No blood for oil".

This photo of a 60 meter waterfall was taken at Ilha Bela, an island near the coast between Rio de Janeiro and S“o Paulo. We visited there during the kid's "summer" vacation in January.

Hilary and her friend Priscilla from school. They are both in the graduating class of 2003 at Escola Jaime Kratz.

While at Ilha Bela, we tried a new tropical fruit called "jaca". The guy in the photo is cutting out several pieces for us. The flavor is something like banana, but has more of a "slimy" feel to it.

This is the possible soccer ministry site I mention in the Spr. 03 newsletter working with LPC Communications.

These are another tropical fruit found here in Brazil called "starfruit".

We took this photo while at a church retreat during Carnaval. A beautiful view of the countryside about an hour's drive outside of Campinas.

A beautiful hibiscus flower.

Jacob rapeling midway down the waterfall at Ilha Bela.

A view from the beach at Ilha Bela looking back on the mainland of Brazil.

Taylor and her friend Alini from school.

Jacob took this photo of the "bird of paradise" flower in January.
