Becca Bennett #010701
Becca Bennett is a covenant child and was raised in a Christian family as a PCA preacher's kid. She has lived in Tennessee and Florida and came to know Christ at a very young age. She always wanted to be a nurse, and after her family moved to Millbrook, Alabama, she attended Auburn University at Montgomery and received her BSN in May 2003. Throughout college she served at her church as a high school youth leader as well as at Ridge Haven camp as a counselor and camp nurse for several summer and winter camps. Since graduation she has worked as a medical-surgical floor nurse at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
After Becca went on a medical missions trip to Lima, Peru in the winter of 2003, the Lord laid on her heart to serve in medical missions. He confirmed this calling to her after she went back to Lima on a trip with Oak Mountain Presbyterian in June 2004. She was approved by MTW to serve as a two-year missionary with the church planting team in Lima, Peru.
As a diaconal ministry of mercy, Becca's ministry in Lima includes health teaching and promotion to poverty stricken people through the church plants. She is developing Òhealth promotersÓ in the church plants to be able to begin making visits and helping the church body with health and wellness. She visits the sick and needy in homes and hospitals. She also helps organize medical teams that visit Lima. These opportunities open doors for evangelism. She is very excited and humbled by this calling of the Lord for her to serve in Peru.
Proverbs 15:30 -
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.
